This policy explains when and how BoutiquePOS (legal entity details to be published) refunds payments for its point-of-sale plans, add-ons, managed websites and the Boutique Complete bundle. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Where your order form says something different, the order form applies.
Why is there a free trial first?
Because the best refund is the one you never need. Every new account gets a [[trial]]-day free trial with no card required. You can import your products, print labels, ring up test sales and try returns before you pay anything. If BoutiquePOS is not right for your shop, simply let the trial end. Nothing is charged.
Can I get a refund on a monthly plan?
Monthly plans are paid in advance for each month and are not prorated after renewal. If you cancel partway through a month, you keep full access until the end of that paid month, and you will not be charged again. We do not refund the part of the month you did not use.
There are two exceptions where we will refund a monthly charge in full:
- Charged in error: for example, a duplicate payment, a charge after you cancelled, or the wrong plan billed.
- We could not provide the service: if a serious problem on our side stopped you using BoutiquePOS for a large part of the month and we could not fix it in a reasonable time.
Can I get a refund on a yearly plan?
Yes, within limits. If you pay yearly and change your mind, you can ask for a refund within 30 days of the yearly renewal date (or of your first yearly payment). We will refund the unused full months on a pro-rata basis.
How it works:
- We take the yearly amount you paid and divide it by 12 to get the monthly value.
- Any month that has started counts as used, including the month in which you ask.
- We refund the remaining full months.
For example, if you ask 20 days after your yearly renewal, the first month counts as used and we refund the other 11 months at the monthly value of your yearly price. After the 30-day window, yearly plans are not refundable, but you can cancel so the plan does not renew next year and keep access until the end of the paid year.
If the yearly plan came with a waived setup fee (for example on the bundle), the waived fee is not charged back to you when you take a refund.
What about extra locations and add-ons?
Extra locations and other monthly add-ons follow the monthly rule: they are not prorated after renewal. You can remove them at any time and they will not renew. If they are billed as part of a yearly plan, the yearly rule applies.
Assisted product import is free, so there is nothing to refund.
Can I get the managed website setup fee back?
Yes, until design work starts. The managed website and the Boutique Complete bundle include a one-time setup fee.
- Before design work starts: the setup fee is fully refundable. Design work starts when we send you the first design draft or, if earlier, when you approve the brief and we confirm in writing that work has begun.
- After design work starts: the setup fee is not refundable, because our team has already spent time on your site. If you cancel at this point, we will hand over any agreed design files we have completed.
- Monthly website fees follow the monthly or yearly rules above.
If we miss the delivery time we agreed with you by more than 14 days for reasons on our side, you may cancel the website order and get the setup fee back in full.
What is not refundable?
- Card processing fees charged by your own card processor. We do not process your shop’s payments and do not receive those fees.
- Hardware you bought from another seller, such as barcode scanners, label printers or receipt printers. Ask the seller about their returns policy.
- Third-party services you pay for directly, such as domain names, WooCommerce extensions or your marketing tools, unless we billed them to you.
- Periods after your account was suspended for breaking our acceptable use rules.
How do I ask for a refund?
Send us a message through the form on our contact page and choose “Billing” if that option is shown. Please include:
- your business name and the login email on the account;
- the plan or service and the date of the charge;
- the reason for your request (this helps us improve, but it does not affect a refund you are entitled to).
We reply within one business day. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. Where the original method cannot receive refunds, such as a cash or bank transfer payment in Pakistan or the UAE, we will refund by bank transfer to an account in the name of the business that paid.
What happens to my data after a refund?
A refund closes the paid period it covers. Your account then follows the normal cancellation steps in our Terms of Service: you have 30 days to export your products, customers and sales before the data is deleted.
Does this policy limit my legal rights?
No. Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded. This includes rights under UAE consumer protection law, Pakistan’s federal and provincial consumer protection laws and the laws of US states. If the law where you are gives you a stronger right to a refund than this policy, you get that right.
Chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first. We can usually fix billing errors faster than a bank dispute. If you file a chargeback while we are still working on your request, we may pause the account until the dispute is resolved.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes apply to payments made after the “updated” date at the top, not to payments you made before it. For significant changes, we will tell account holders by email or in the app.
