Your catalog, customers and sales are the record of your business. Here is plainly where they live, how they are protected and how you take them with you.
BoutiquePOS keeps your data on hosted servers reached over encrypted HTTPS connections, with daily backups and restores on request. Staff get their own logins with roles and permissions per location. You can export your data any time. Card data stays with your own processor, and we do not claim PCI or SOC 2 certification.

Roles and permissions
Decide what each role can do: ring sales, give discounts, process returns, see costs or run reports.

Where does my data live?
On hosted servers run for BoutiquePOS, not on the tablet at your counter. If a device is lost or broken, your catalog and sales are still there when you log in from another one.
Every connection uses HTTPS, so data moving between your shop and our servers is encrypted.
How are backups handled?
Data is backed up daily and kept for a rolling retention period. If something goes wrong, such as a mistaken bulk edit, contact support and we can discuss a restore.
A restore returns data to the point of a backup, so changes made after it may need to be redone. Tell us quickly so less is lost.
How do I control what staff can see and do?
With user roles and permissions. You decide whether a role can give discounts, process returns, see purchase prices, edit products or run reports, and which locations each user can work in.
Each person has their own login, so every sale, refund and register close is recorded against a name. Change or remove access the day someone leaves.
Is my data mine?
Yes. You can export products, customers, stock and reports at any time, and you can leave any month without a contract.
We do not sell your customer list or use it to market to your customers.
What security certifications do you claim?
None. We do not claim PCI DSS, SOC 2 or ISO certification. We would rather tell you that plainly than put badges on a page.
Card data does not pass through BoutiquePOS. Payments run through your own card processor, which carries its own card security obligations, and BoutiquePOS records only the payment method and amount.
Is my BoutiquePOS data backed up?
Yes. Data is backed up daily and kept for a rolling period, and restores are available on request.
Is the connection encrypted?
Yes. All connections to BoutiquePOS use HTTPS.
Is BoutiquePOS PCI compliant?
We do not claim PCI certification. Card data stays with your own card processor and does not pass through BoutiquePOS.
Is BoutiquePOS SOC 2 certified?
No. We do not claim SOC 2 or ISO certification.
Can I stop staff giving discounts or refunds?
Yes. Roles and permissions control who can discount, refund, see costs or run reports.
Can I limit staff to one shop?
Yes. Users can be limited to the locations they work in.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Yes. Export products, customers, stock and reports any time; there is no contract.
What happens if my tablet is stolen?
Your data is on our servers, not the tablet. Change the passwords of anyone logged in on it and carry on from another device.
Do you sell or share my customer list?
No. Your customer data is yours and we do not use it to market to your customers.
