Switch POS without losing your catalog

Changing tills is mostly a data job, and the data that matters is your catalog. We help you move products, variants, customers and stock across for free, and you can run both systems for a week.

Switching to BoutiquePOS means exporting products with their sizes and colors, customers, stock counts and suppliers from your old POS as CSV files and importing them. Help with the import is free. Past sales history stays in your old system, so export the reports you need first, and switch between seasons if you can.

What moves over to BoutiquePOS?

Products with their size and color variants, SKUs, barcodes and prices; customers with their contact details; current stock counts; and suppliers. Those cover what you need to sell on day one.

If your old barcodes are stored per variation, they can come across, so existing swing tags keep scanning.

What doesn't move over?

Past sales history stays in your old system. It is rarely worth importing years of transactions, and the totals would not match your new setup anyway.

Before you close the old account, export the reports you need: sales by product for last season, tax summaries and customer purchase totals. Keep them with your accounts.

When is the best time to switch?

Between seasons. Avoid the week before Eid, the holiday rush or the start of a lawn drop. A quiet fortnight after a sale ends is ideal, because stock is low and easy to count.

If you sign up during a busy period, use the 14-day trial to set up your catalog and switch the till once things calm down.

Should I run both systems for a while?

Yes, for about a week. Ring all new sales in BoutiquePOS so stock stays right, and keep the old system only to look up and process returns of things sold before the switch.

Once those older returns slow down and your end-of-day totals match, close the old system.

Still unsure? Ask us on WhatsApp or the form, or search the help center.

How do I switch to BoutiquePOS from my old POS?

Export products, customers, suppliers and stock as CSV files, send them for a free import check, import them, count your stock and run both systems for about a week.

Is import help really free?

Yes. Help importing your products costs nothing.

Will my sizes and colors come across?

Yes, if your export has one row per variation or lists the options per style. We check this on the import call.

Can I keep my existing barcodes?

Usually, yes. If your export includes a barcode per variation, it can be imported so your current tags keep scanning.

Can I import my sales history?

No. Past sales stay in your old system. Export the reports you need before closing it.

Can I bring my customers and loyalty balances?

Customers with their contact details can be imported. Talk to us on the import check about carrying over points or store credit balances.

How long does switching take?

Most boutiques plan about two weeks from export to switching off the old system, including a week of running both.

Is there a contract I am locked into with BoutiquePOS?

No. Plans are month to month and you can export your data any time.

Do I need new hardware to switch?

Usually not. Standard receipt printers, scanners and label printers often keep working. The hardware guide explains what to check.
