Import products from a CSV file
Bring your whole catalog in from a spreadsheet, including sizes and colors, prices and opening stock, without typing each style.
Updated
Can I add my whole catalog at once?
Yes. Download the import template, fill it in with your styles, then upload it. A boutique with 200 to 500 styles can usually finish in an afternoon, and our onboarding team will check the file with you for free if you prefer.
Before you start
- Brands, categories and units you use, created first under Products (the import matches them by name).
- Your tax rates created under Settings → Tax rates.
- A spreadsheet of your products with name, SKU, cost and selling price. Exports from Excel, Google Sheets or another POS all work.
- Opening stock counts per location, if you are importing them now.
- Spreadsheet software that can save as CSV (UTF-8).
Step by step: prepare the file
- Go to Products → Import products.
- Download the template file. Do not rename or reorder its columns.
- Read the instructions table on the import page. It lists each column, whether it is required, and the accepted values.
- Copy your data into the template, one row per product.
- For a single product (one size, one color), set the product type to single and fill in the price columns.
- For a variable product, set the type to variable, enter the variation name (for example “Size”) and list the values separated by the pipe character:
XS|S|M|L|XL. List the SKUs, prices and opening stock for each value in the same order, also pipe-separated. - Fill in manage stock (1 for yes), alert quantity, tax name and whether the price is inclusive or exclusive.
- Save as CSV UTF-8. This keeps Arabic and Urdu product names intact.
Example of a variable row
A linen kurta in four sizes would have:
- Name: Linen kurta, Rust
- Type: variable
- Variation name: Size
- Variation values: S|M|L|XL
- Variation SKUs: LK-RU-S|LK-RU-M|LK-RU-L|LK-RU-XL
- Selling prices: same value four times, separated by pipes
- Opening stock: 3|5|5|2
Step by step: upload and check
- Back on Products → Import products, choose your CSV and upload.
- If the import fails, the screen names the row and column with the problem. Fix it in your spreadsheet and upload again. Nothing is imported until the whole file passes.
- When it succeeds, open Products → List products and spot-check five styles: price, sizes, stock and tax.
- Add product photos. Images are easiest to add per product after import.
- Print barcode labels for the imported stock.
Should I start small?
Yes. Import ten rows first, including at least two variable products. Check them at the register. Once those look right, import the rest. It is much faster to fix a template mistake on ten rows than on six hundred.

Common problems
“Brand not found” or “Category not found”
The import matches names exactly. Create the brand or category first, or correct the spelling in your file, including capital letters and trailing spaces.
Arabic or Urdu names come out as question marks
The file was not saved as UTF-8. Re-save it as CSV UTF-8 and upload again.
Variable products import with the wrong number of sizes
The pipe-separated lists do not have the same length. If there are five sizes there must be five SKUs, five prices and five stock figures.
Prices are off by the tax amount
Check the inclusive or exclusive column. In the UAE, shelf prices usually include 5% VAT; in the US they usually do not.
Leading zeros disappeared from barcodes
Spreadsheets strip leading zeros from numbers. Format the SKU and barcode columns as text before pasting in your data.
