Point of sale for Dubai boutiques

Dubai fashion retail stretches from the Bur Dubai textile souk to Dubai Mall, and many owners run a shop in both worlds. BoutiquePOS keeps fabric by the meter, abayas by length and designer pieces by size on one catalog with Arabic and English receipts.

Yes. BoutiquePOS works for Dubai boutiques, abaya ateliers and Bur Dubai textile shops. Prices include 5% VAT, receipts print in Arabic and English with your TRN, abayas track by length and color, fabric sells by the meter, and stock moves between your mall unit, souk shop and online store.

  • Bur Dubai Textile Souk and Meena BazaarLanes of fabric, sari and ready-made shops near Al Fahidi, selling by the meter to tailors, residents and tourists.
  • DeiraNaif and Al Ghurair area traders selling garments, abayas and fabric, with plenty of wholesale buyers.
  • KaramaKarama Market and the streets around it, known for value fashion, tailoring and busy evening trade.
  • Dubai Mall and Mall of the EmiratesFashion floors with international brands, regional designers and high tourist spend.
  • Jumeirah and City WalkVilla-street boutiques and modern abaya and occasion-wear ateliers with appointment-based clients.
  • SatwaTailoring shops and fabric stores where customers bring cloth in to be stitched.

The Dubai clothing trade.

Dubai boutiques serve an unusually mixed crowd: Emirati families buying abayas and jalabiyas for Eid, residents from South Asia, the Philippines and Europe, and tourists who will spend once and fly home. Staff often speak four or five languages between them, but the receipt needs to be clear in Arabic and English.

Abaya ateliers face a sizing problem most POS systems ignore. Abayas are sold by length rather than S to XL, so one design in black can run in eight lengths, and a Ramadan drop can sell through specific lengths in days. Textile shops near Al Fahidi have the opposite headache: selling the same bolt by the meter to one customer and as a cut to a tailor.

The calendar is tight. Ramadan and Eid bring late-night shopping and the year's biggest sales, the Dubai Shopping Festival brings discounts across the city around the turn of the year, and Dubai Summer Surprises keeps malls busy in the hottest months. WhatsApp and Instagram orders run through all of it.

Local setup tips

Set up for Dubai from day one.

Tip 1

Put abaya length in the variation

Use length (for example 52 to 60) and color as the variations so every combination has its own barcode and stock count, and you can see which lengths sell out first.

Tip 2

Print your TRN on bilingual receipts

Set an Arabic and English receipt layout with your TRN and VAT breakdown for each location. Your tax adviser can confirm the invoice details your business must show.

Tip 3

Sell souk fabric by the meter

Set the meter as the base unit with a fixed cut as a sub-unit, and give tailors a wholesale price group so trade and retail customers are priced correctly at one counter.

Tip 4

Schedule DSF markdowns in advance

Create discounts by category with start and end dates for the festival, so they switch on at opening and off at the end without anyone editing prices at midnight.

Size & color variants

Dubai abaya and kaftan shops can size by length and color, with prices shown VAT-inclusive on the receipt.

Fabric by the meter

Fabric shops in Dubai's textile souk can sell by the meter to walk-ins and by the piece to tailors, with VAT-inclusive receipts.

Multi-location stock

UAE brands with a mall store in Dubai and a branch in Sharjah or Abu Dhabi can share stock between them by transfer.

Seasonal sales

UAE boutiques can set Dubai Shopping Festival and Ramadan offers by date, with VAT-inclusive sale prices on the receipt.

FAQ

Boutique POS in Dubai: questions

Still unsure? Ask us on WhatsApp or the form, or search the help center.

Can BoutiquePOS print Arabic and English receipts in Dubai?

Yes. The interface supports Arabic with right-to-left layout, and each location has its own receipt layout, so you can print bilingual receipts with your TRN and the VAT amount.

Can I track abayas by length?

Yes. Make length a variation alongside color. Each length and color gets its own SKU, barcode, price and stock count.

Can it handle the VAT refund for tourists?

No. BoutiquePOS doesn't issue tourist VAT refund tags. If you take part in the tax refund for tourists scheme, that runs through the scheme operator's own system.

I have shops in Deira and Dubai Mall. Can they share stock?

Yes. Each shop is a location with its own registers, staff and receipt layout. You can transfer stock between them and see sales side by side.

Does it work with Tabby or Tamara?

You can add buy-now-pay-later as a custom payment method so it shows separately in reports. The plan itself runs through your agreement with that provider.

Can I sell to tailors at trade prices?

Yes. Put tailors in a customer group with its own selling price group, and the till applies the trade price when you choose that customer.

Will it cope with late-night Ramadan trading?

Yes. Registers open and close per shift, so late-night sessions get their own cash count, and reports show sales by hour and by staff member.

Do you process card payments?

No. BoutiquePOS works with your own card processor and records the payment at the till; we never handle the money.
